About the Event

The Ladies Offroad Garage is an opportunity for ladies that love to be in the garage to network with other like-minded girls while learning additional skills from trained instructors.  The 2017 event will be hosted at The Fab School in Rancho Cucamonga, CA for a weekend of hands-on fabrication instruction while collaborating on a project that will be featured at Ladies Offroad Network events.

"I meet amazing 'garage girls' across the country who feel like they are the only one.  My goal with this event is to be able to have them in one space where they can work together, empower each other and learn some new skills.   All while hosted by my team and myself in a fun and exciting style that we love to provide!"  ~ Charlene

Who's invited?

The Ladies Offroad Garage is open to ladies that enjoy working in the garage and have some experience.  You do not need to be a professional fabricator or mechanic, you can love to build in the garage as a hobby.  All levels are welcome.  This is a great opportunity for ladies to further their knowledge and advance their skills.  We will also have business training sessions for those interesting in advancing their career or turning their hobby into a full-time position.

Because the event is limited to 30 ladies, we ask that if you have been wanting to try welding or fabricating, to come to our Ladies Offroad Convention where you will have an opportunity to try your hand at both!

Hands-On

Guests will be given the opportunity to work with the trained instructors at The Fab School for two full days.  The Fab School operates under the leadership of the school Director and founder, Troy Johnson. Troy is a leader in the fabrication industry and has more than 25 years of experience. Troy has hand-picked some of the top industry professionals to join The Fab School as instructors. Each instructor has over 10 years of experience in the fabrication industry and possesses unique, insider knowledge of the complexity and scope of work involved in the fabrication industry today.

Together, we have decided on a hands-on project that will be featured at Ladies Offroad Network events.  Ladies will have the opportunity to work on the project at different stages.  They can help where they know a particular skill and then push themselves to learn a new skill set to help finish the project.  It is our goal to give ladies the opportunity to learn something new and give tips and techniques to make their current skill set better.

Classroom

There will be a couple hours of classroom instruction wrapped into the day.  Lessons will range in topics from specific information about safety, the different tooling available, calculations and industry math.

Ladies will have the opportunity to listen to the head of the Career Services Department at The Fab School to learn about options and opportunities to use the skill set as a full-time career.  A question and answer session will follow.

Adventure

We would never ask you to come to Southern California without taking you to the beach!   Sunday morning we will check-out of the hotel, jump into a bus and head to the coast for a morning with our toes in the sand while enjoying a nice brunch.  It's July - bring your suit - it should be warm enough to jump in and play in the waves, or enjoy one of the other many beach activities we have in store.

"I am guilty.  I travel a lot and don't always take the opportunity to enjoy the local area - I run into an event and leave.  The last couple years I have added a day to my trip to look around and have sincerely enjoyed my traveling much more!  All of our events have an adventure wrapped into it, something significant to the area.  It's all about having fun, and trying something new!"  ~ Charlene

Nightly Speakers

Each evening before dinner we will have a Guest Speaker who will add perspective and motivation to Ladies that are working in and around the garage.  These guests will be from different segments of the industry and will be joining us for dinner for additional conversations.

Business Training

Learn about the offroad business market. Talk with professionals about starting your own business, finding your niche, and how to fit yourself into the market. In addition, Social Media training and execution will be part of the weekend.

Excellent Food

We love to indulge in excellent food and we have scoped out the best restaurants and opportunities for our breakfasts, lunches and dinners.  We are aware of special diets and can help accommodate them.

Meet Like-Minded Ladies

All the ladies in attendance will be similar in nature to yourself.  Fun, excited to learn, willing to jump outside the box, and looking to meet others.  Through different activities you will get to meet and work with the whole group.

Optional Activity - Thursday

Thursday - July 6, 2017

We are offering an opportunity to join Charlene on some shop tours local to The Fab School in Southern California.  These tours will be hosted by key offroad industry guests who will take us through their manufacturing facilities.

Once Charlene understands how many people are interested in going, she will present some options to the group who will help determine the stops. Due to time restraints, there may only be 2-3 shop stops.

Optional Activity - Sunday

Sunday - July 9, 2017

Giving back, helping others, and being kind are extremely important to Charlene. In true fashion, the final event of the Ladies Offroad Garage weekend will be built around helping and motivating others with the skills learned over the weekend.

This event is listed as an optional event to allow ladies to travel early if needed. We sincerely hope that everyone will have the opportunity to stay and participate.
